![]() ![]() RAM listed for deluxe wont even boot for WS? There's a 32 g.skill kit listed as compatible on the g.skill site but that's only 1600, I was hoping to overclock the memory bus a little. In the Asus QVL there's no combination of more than 16GB so I'd have to go take chances again. The kit that I bought is listed on the g.skill website as compatible with P9X79 Deluxe, but WS is not in the list, i guess for a good reason. I'm gonna put the stuff back together into the case and hopefully I won't run into more issues. I rushed to microcenter and picked up two sticks of Corsair 2GB and tried it out. They went through my set up and when it came to the memory the rep looked it up in the qualified vendor list and couldn't find it so refused to help me any further until I replace it with modules that were on the list. After trying with a different PSU, pulling out cables from ssd and optical drive, trying different combinations for fan+headers and taking the motherboard out of the case to no avail, I was ready to RMA the board and called Asus support. Please let me know any suggestions for my particular set up (i really dread having to swap out the ($$600 and hard to find) 3930k CPU. I'm suspecting the PSU and will check that with psu tester tomorrow but i was wondering, how common is it that the mobo power led turns on and the psu is still faulty? Is power=red the normal color? None of the diagnostic leds turn on, there's no accoustic signal and no POST. When I turn the PSU switch on, the Power and Reset LED switches on the mobo turn on Power is RED and Reset is green, however when I power on the computer (either through the mobo Power led switch or the case power), fan spin for a split second and then everything is quiet. I've just finished putting together a system with an Asus P9X79 WS mobo and i7-3930k CPU (full setup below). ![]()
